ODM Deregisters Members Who Met Up With President Ruto

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has taken a move to expel and sign out its Members of Parliament(MPs) who visited the state house for talks with the president early this week.

According to the party led by the opposition chief Raila odinga, such a move by an ODM legislature is enough proof to be termed a betrayer.

The constitution of the party states that a member may be understood to have pulled out from a political party if that person promotes the ideology, interests or policies of another political party.

Through a disciplinary letter targeted at the afore described legislators, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna mentioned the disciplinary process has commenced in line with the party’s constitution.

The letter addressed Senator Tom Ojienda, MPs Gideon Ochanda, Caroli Omondi, Elisha Odhiambo, Paul Abuor, Mark Nyamita and Phelix Odiwuor.

“Internal mechanisms have been initiated with a view of processing it for action by the relevant Party organs in accordance with the Party Constitution and any other relevant law,” he said.

This comes after Odinga yesterday told Azimio La Umoja Members of Parliament who are subscribing to Kenya Kwanza’s administration to resign.

“These people had not gone to ask the people who elected them whether they want to go to Kenya Kwanza. These members who have defected from Azimio need to resign from the positions and go, ” he said.
