Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza on Tuesday met with Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi. Kawira shared details of their meeting on her official Facebook page which she captioned “Meru must be happy.”
She also uploaded pictures of her shaking hands with Linturi. This occurs as the Senate begins to hear Mwangaza’s motion for impeachment. The Senate selected an 11-person committee to look into the allegations made against Mwangaza by the Meru County Assembly Members.
At the general elections on August 9, Mwangaza and Linturi competed against one another for the position of governor. The governor, who was under siege, blamed Meru Senator Kathuri Murungi for her problems, stating that Murungi had begun his bid for governor in 2027.
Additionally, she asserted that Murungi was not open to a cease-fire between her and the MCAs of Meru. Additionally, Murungi criticized Mwangaza’s decision to ask President William Ruto for assistance, calling it shameful.
Mwangaza compared her problems to those the President had to deal with before to becoming head of state.
