Zari Dismisses Claims Akothee’s Wedding Pressured Her To Also Wed

Ugandan South Africa based Socialite Zari Hassan has revealed that she did not wed because of Akothee’s grand wedding.

In a series of stories on her Snapchat, Zari slammed critics for saying she was wedded due to peer pressure.

Zari seemed to pointing out at Akothee’s wedding while affirming that nobody’s wedding inspired hers.

“Shakib did not wake up to marry me because there is so much pressure because someone somewhere in another country wedded.’’She wrote.

“This year he comes to South Africa and says he is going to marry me and has even talked to Sheikhs. Before I even comprehend everything the date has been set,” she added.

Zari, 42, tied the knot with her younger lover, Shakib Lutaaga, 30, on April 17, 2023, in a private wedding in South Africa. The two have dated for approximately 10 months.

Zari’s wedding came few days after Akothee’s master wedding that shook the media for almost three days.

It should be noted that Zari and Akothee, both mothers of five, have not seen eye to eye for almost four years. Their beef started four years ago when Akothee unfollowed Zari on social media despite them having portrayed a friendly relationship online that saw Akothee inviting Zari to Kenya for a motivation session to women dubbed ‘living after break up.”

“It doesn’t have to be breaking news when I decide to unfollow some of my colleagues in the social media industry. It’s a way to get some fresh air,” Akothee said when questioned for unfollowing Zari.

Akothee went on to talk about how she defended Zari from bullies with but Zari did not come to her rescue when it was Akothee who was being trolled.
