Black woman in handcuffs
Police in Juja, Kiambu County, have arrested a woman suspected of murdering her 23-year-old ex-lover, Peter Macharia. The suspect, a Ugandan national, allegedly stabbed Macharia seven times at Mastore Estate before fleeing.
The victim’s body was discovered on Monday, January 20, with multiple stab wounds. Responding officers collected the body and launched investigations, which led to the arrest of the suspect. Blood traces were reportedly found at her residence during the arrest.
Confirming the incident, Juja police commander Jackson Sang stated that investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the brutal killing. “I want to confirm that one young man of 23 years, by the name Peter Macharia, was stabbed several times by a lady friend,” Sang said.
Reports indicate that the suspect had previously threatened the deceased. According to Macharia’s brother, Duncan Ndung’u, he was informed of his brother’s death by a close friend but arrived at the scene to find him already deceased.
Residents of Mastore Estate expressed shock over the tragic incident, noting that the suspect had been exhibiting unusual behavior in recent days.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court soon to face murder charges. Investigators are working to piece together the circumstances that led to the killing.
