William Ruto Promises To Strengthen Kenya-Spain Bilateral Relations.

On Wednesday, President William Ruto advocated for improved business connections between Kenya and Spain.

Dr. Ruto urged Spanish businessmen to take advantage of economic prospects in Kenya, during a meeting at State House in Nairobi with the President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, Petro Sanchez.

Since the two nations’ establishing of diplomatic ties 57 years ago, this is the first trip to Kenya by the President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain.

Kenya is committed to enhancing its bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Spain, as President Ruto reaffirmed.

According to Dr. Ruto, Kenya welcomes Spanish companies’ interest in a variety of industries, including tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, water management, and renewable energy.

Dr. Ruto stated that as part of initiatives to forge closer connections between Kenya and Spain, the two nations have decided to establish a continuous dialogue based on shared values and guiding principles.

In addition to recognizing that bilateral flows have exhibited a very favorable growth trend over the past ten years, we commit to fostering closer economic and investment ties between our nations, added Dr. Ruto.

Representatives from the two countries signed three Memoranda of Understanding during the meeting in the fields of trade, health, and education.

On his part, President Sánchez stated that Spain’s foreign policy continues to place a high focus on Africa.

President Sanchez declared, “We have decided to pursue a comprehensive bilateral agenda, strengthening political, economic, and cultural cooperation.”

The two Heads of State also commended the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which aims to alleviate the global food crisis, and voiced concern about the growing global food crisis brought on by the prolonged drought.

In addition to other initiatives by Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, aimed at alleviating the global food crisis, we express our support for and welcome the Black Sea Grain Initiative, said Dr. Ruto.

They stated that the two nations have an unwavering commitment to the goals and objectives outlined in the United Nations Charter as well as an international and multilateral order based on rules.

They added that the fundamental reason for instability and insecurity on a global scale was terrorism and that the two nations will keep cooperating in the battle against it.
