We Oppose Unfair Demands Placed On Workers – KMPDU

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union has recently declared that, alongside other labor unions, they will fight against unfair demands made on employees.

KMPDU stated that as employees, all they are seeking is for the government to strike a balance between its needs and public employee rights.

Together, we oppose the unfair demands made on labor. The doctors said that equitable solutions should strike a balance between the government’s needs and the rights of its devoted public personnel.

The doctor’s union statement came the day after peaceful rallies by Public Service employees in Nairobi.

“Our peaceful procession represents our unwavering dedication to defending workers’ rights and keeping those in positions of authority responsible. More than ever, it is essential for all parties involved to engage in meaningful discourse and come up with lasting solutions.

The labor unions delivered petitions to Parliament expressing their concerns during the calm demonstration.

The National Health Insurance Fund rise, the planned 3% housing charge, and other tax increases in the 2023 Finance Bill are a few of the concerns expressed by employees.

The peaceful demonstrations, according to KMPDU, were intended to defend the rights and wellbeing of dedicated public sector workers.

“We marched to make sure that the workers’ voices are heard clearly. Our members, their families, and their livelihoods would be significantly impacted by the proposed housing levy and tax increases, according to the doctors’ union.”We demand just and open decision-making procedures that take the welfare of the workforce into account.”The Kenya National Union of Teachers, the Kenya Universities Staff Union, the Universities Academic Staff Union, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union, the Kenya Union Of Domestic Hotels Educational Institutions Hospitals and Allied Workers, among others, were among the organizations from which public servants were selected.
