Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor John Barorot has resigned from the post with immediate effect.

Barorot made the announcement at a meeting with senior county staff at the Eka Hotel in Eldoret, in the presence of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii.

According to sources privy to the county government, Barorot has secured a job at a multinational company as the Chief Executive Officer in the ICT sector abroad.

Governor Jonathan Chelilim stated that he wished to thank Barorot for his endeavors in his position as the second-in-command. He assured the residents of Uasin Gishu that the county is still committed to providing services to the residents.

Barorot exits the political space to work in the digital sector, which he considers a blessing in disguise.

Chelilim also mentioned that he will nominate the next deputy governor in September for vetting by the National Assembly.
