Trailer Accident Claims Four Lives in Bungoma County

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday at Mayanja Kibuke market in Bungoma County, leaving residents in a state of shock. A trailer veered off the road, resulting in the unfortunate death of four family members. The victims, who were traveling back home to Malava in Kakamega County, had attended a burial in Bungoma County prior to the accident.

Patrick Masika, who witnessed the incident, revealed that the deceased comprised two women and two men traveling on motorbikes towards the Kanduyi route. He expressed concern about the frequency of accidents on the road and called upon the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to install speed bumps to prevent further tragedies.

Masika highlighted that numerous lives have been lost on the same road, yet no action has been taken by the authorities to address the issue. At the Mayanja market, residents were unable to identify the deceased individuals.

Governor Fernandez Barasa of Kakamega County sent his condolences in a message published by the Star. He mentioned that the victims were from the Machemo community area in the Chemuche ward of Malava constituency. The governor expressed deep sadness at the tragic deaths and urged all road users to exercise caution in order to prevent similar accidents in the future.

A devastating accident occurred at Mayanja Kibuke market, claiming the lives of four family members who were returning home after attending a burial. The incident has drawn attention to the need for safety measures on the road to prevent further accidents and loss of life.
