Eldoret, February 2, 2024, In a solemn court proceeding at Eldoret High Court today, two individuals, a boda boda rider identified as David Ekai alias Timo, aged 25, and Peter Khalumi, aged 30, have been formally charged with the murder of renowned Kenyan-born Ugandan athlete, Edward Kiplagat. The suspects, appearing before Justice Robert Wananda, entered pleas of not guilty to the murder charge.

The court learned that the heinous crime took place on December 31, 2023, in the quiet confines of Kimumu estate on the outskirts of Eldoret town, located in Uasin Gishu county. The prosecution alleged that the accused brutally killed Edward Kiplagat, a distinguished athlete and a 2008 World Junior and 3,000 steeplechase silver medalist.
