Three Arrested Following a Fatal Daylight Stabbing in Nairobi, Eastleigh.

Police have detained three suspects in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy during a street altercation in Eastleigh, Nairobi, on Sunday, March 29. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight near a row of shops and parked vehicles, has sparked widespread concern over public safety.
According to preliminary police reports, the victim was involved in a physical confrontation with a group of individuals believed to be his acquaintances. The dispute escalated violently, leaving the teenager with multiple stab wounds, prompting authorities to move the body to the city mortuary pending an autopsy.
“We have three individuals in custody who are assisting with investigations,” said a senior police spokesperson. “While the motive remains under investigation, we can confirm this was an isolated dispute among acquaintances and is not linked to organized gang activity or terrorism.”
The gravity of the event intensified on Monday after a mobile phone video of the scuffle surfaced on social media. The footage, which has since gone viral, triggered a wave of public outrage and calls for increased security patrols.
Local residents, however, remain on edge, citing a history of volatility in the neighborhood. “We are tired of living in fear,” said one shopkeeper who witnessed the aftermath. “The concern now is retaliation. We need a permanent police presence here to ensure this doesn’t spiral further.”
As of Monday evening, the three suspects remain at a local police station awaiting formal charges. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses and interviewing additional witnesses to piece together the exact timeline of the tragedy. Community leaders have called for a town hall meeting later this week to address the rising anxiety and discuss long-term safety measures for the area’s youth.
