Autopsies performed on nine bodies of children which were exhumed from the shakahola forest revealed that seven of them died from starvation. The Chief Government pathologist Johansen Oduor said two other children died from lack of oxygen.
Oduor added that pathologists were unable to determine what caused the death of an adult whose body was part of the autopsies conducted on Monday. This is because the body had been in the grave for a bit longer.
The Shakahola massacre that claimed more than 109 lives has it’s roots from estranged Pastor Paul Mackenzie Nthenge of the Good News International Church who reportedly urged followers to starve to death in order for them to meet Jesus.
Detectives and pathologists are still spying through the Shakahola forest for more shallow graves and any of Makenzie’s captives.
Over ten people suspected to be linked to Paul Makenzie have been arrested,including televangelist Ezekiel Odero. Mackenzie was arrested last month and is still in police custody.
