Rigathi Gachagua Blasts President Ruto For Undermining Mount Kenya Leaders

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has blasted President William Ruto for undermining Mount Kenya leaders, stating that this goes against the promise he made during the election campaign.

In an emotional speech given by the former Deputy President in Meru, he criticized the president for planning to oust the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Martha Koome, stating that if he dares to remove her from office, then he should never set foot in Mount Kenya, specifically Meru. Gachagua further lamented the president’s attempt to purge Mount Kenya leaders from positions, despite the region’s strong support for him during the 2022 election.

“There is a clear scheme to purge all our leaders from our region in government. We formed this government and voted for President Ruto. But as you can see, there is a clear plan to hound every leader from Mount Kenya out of government. At first, it was Rigathi Gachagua, and now the latest on their radar is Chief Justice Martha Koome. Ukifukuza Martha Usikanyage Hapa Meru tena. (We want to tell the president that if he manages to remove Martha Koome, then he should never set foot in Meru.)”

He has teamed up with ODM MPs to remove everyone from government, especially those leaders who are standing against oppression and demanding development in their region.

Gachagua further asked the residents to deal with every MP who stood to vote for his impeachment, stating that it was a betrayal for his own members of parliament to send him packing.
