A Kenyan police officer deployed to Haiti to uphold peace in the Multinational Security Mission (MSS) shot and killed during an operation against criminal gangs in Seguin, Pont-Sonde, Port-au-Prince.
This marks the first casualty for the Kenyan contingent since making the first deployment of Kenya Police Officers on June 25, 2024, as part of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission.
The officer succumbed to severe injuries while receiving treatment at Level Two Aspen Hospital, having sustained critical gunshot wounds in the gang attack.
