Former Presidential Deputy Candidate Justina Wamae Quits Roots Party

Roots’ and Professor George Wajackoya presidential running mate Justina Wamae officially left the party yesterday.

According to Justina’s resignation letter, her role lapsed once Dr. William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua were declared winner of the election by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and upon upholding of their win by the Supreme Court of Kenya on 5th September 2022.

“In this regard, I tender my resignation as a member of Roots Party of Kenya. Kindly accord the ORPP the requirements for my name’s prompt removal from you[r] party register,” read part of the letter.

Wamae and Wajackoya dispute started after she conceded defeat and congratulated his excellency at the night when the duo unsuccessfully attempted to get the presidency.

She received a letter from the registrar of political parties calling for disciplinary meeting as she was accused of misinterpteting the Party’s ideologies but didn’t avail herself.

Wamae says she has left the party voluntarily. “I have voluntarily resigned. They can now eat hot air. ” She wrote.
