President William Ruto Questions Kenyans Over Adani Deals

President William Ruto yesterday called out those who stopped the Adani takeover deal as they had no clue what it was about.

The controversial Adani JKIA deal was cancelled by the president after Adani was arrested in the USA over corruption charges. Back in July, Kenyans took to the streets to demonstrate against the takeover, blaming Ruto for selling public assets. Ruto also cancelled the power supply deal with Adani.

Speaking during the opening of Devki One in Taita Taveta, Ruto said that Kenyans who are against the takeover have never stepped in the airport. “Recently, I saw other people glorify those who stopped the construction of the airport as heroes. What heroes? The airport is in a tent. Other countries are building their airports, yet ours is not built. What gain do you get when you stop the building of an airport in your country, and you lack alternative ideas, and you have no clue how it will be built? he said.

Ruto also insisted that they will find a new way to build another airport.
