President William Ruto Leads the Nation in Mourning the Death of 16 Kids in a Fire Tragedy

President William Ruto has issued a message of condolence to the public following the fire tragedy at Endarasha Hillside Academy in Kieni, Nyeri.

In a statement circulated to media outlets, the President called on investigators to expedite their inquiries into the cause of the fire that claimed the lives of young students in Nyeri.

“Our thoughts are with the families of the children who have lost their lives in the fire tragedy at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri County. I instruct relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate this horrific incident. Those responsible will be held accountable,” said Ruto.

Sixteen students perished on the spot after their dormitory caught fire, burning them beyond recognition, while 14 others are recuperating in the hospital.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Education PS Belio Kipsang have already visited the scene, assessed the situation, and assured parents that investigations are underway to identify the root cause of the fire.
