Octopizzo Hits 1 Million Views within 36 Hours

In a remarkable turn of events, Octopizzo, a renowned Kenyan artiste, has shattered records with his latest release, ‘Sijawai.’ Surpassing all expectations, the song garnered an astonishing one million views on YouTube within a matter of hours, making Octopizzo the first Kenyan artiste to achieve such a feat. This achievement puts Octopizzo in the league of Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny, who were previously hailed for hitting the one million views mark in the shortest time. The highly anticipated music video, released on May 24, 2023, has already climbed to the impressive 27th spot on YouTube’s trending list, solidifying Octopizzo’s dominance in the music industry.

Kenyan rapper Henry Ohanga, widely known as Octopizzo, has etched his name in the record books by becoming the first Kenyan artiste to achieve a staggering one million views within just 36 hours. Octopizzo unleashed his highly anticipated track titled ‘Sijawai,’ which immediately set the internet ablaze, amassing an extraordinary one million views shortly after its debut on YouTube. The music video, released on May 24, 2023, has already skyrocketed to the 27th position on YouTube’s trending list, cementing Octopizzo’s status as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

This groundbreaking feat shattered the previous record held by Otile Brown and Harmonize, whose collaboration ‘Woman’ attained one million views within 48 hours. Joining the ranks of accomplished Tanzanian artists Diamond Platnumz and Rayvanny, who have previously achieved this milestone, Octopizzo’s achievement marks a significant moment in the African music scene.

It’s worth noting that Rayvanny made headlines in September 2019 when the teaser for his video ‘PEPETA,’ featuring Bollywood actress and singer Nora Fatehi, garnered one million views in just six hours, setting a new record in the African music industry. Furthermore, the legendary Koffi Olomide, President of WCB and a Rhumba maestro, made history on November 30, 2020, when his video for ‘Waah’ accumulated over one million views in a mere eight hours, eventually surpassing 78 million views and counting. This groundbreaking achievement solidified Koffi Olomide’s position as an African artiste who managed to exceed two million views within a single day, an extraordinary milestone.

Directed by the talented Director Kenny, the ‘Waah’ video has already amassed a staggering 136 million views, captivating audiences worldwide. Octopizzo’s remarkable accomplishment adds yet another exciting chapter to the ever-evolving story of African music, where artists continue to break boundaries and make their mark on the global stage.
