NPS Announces Nationwide Recruitment of Constables Set for November 17

The National Police Service (NPS) has officially announced that the nationwide recruitment of Police Constables will take place on Monday, November 17, 2025, across designated recruitment centers countrywide.

In a notice released on Thursday, NPS indicated that the exercise will begin at 8:00 a.m., urging all qualified candidates to present themselves early at their respective venues. The announcement comes as part of the government’s broader effort to bolster national security by expanding the police force through structured recruitment.

According to the advert, applicants must be Kenyan citizens in possession of a valid National Identity Card and fall within the age bracket of 18 to 28 years. Eligible candidates are also required to have attained a minimum KCSE mean grade of D+, including at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili. In addition, they must be physically and medically fit and free of any criminal record or pending charges.

NPS further outlined that male applicants must be at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, while female applicants should measure at least 5 feet 3 inches. The service emphasized that female candidates must not be pregnant during recruitment and throughout the entire training period to ensure full participation in police drills and physical exercises.

The police service also encouraged graduates of the National Youth Service (NYS) who meet all requirements to apply, saying their prior discipline and training make them ideal candidates for the force.

The upcoming recruitment drive underscores the government’s continued investment in strengthening the National Police Service and improving security delivery across the country.
