Absalom Odhiambo, a Korogocho MCA, has been called before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission due to comments he made at Raila’s Kamukunji rally.
The ODM-elected MCA is required by the commission to register a statement with NCIC.
Unnecessary tension has been created by recent political activities in the nation, which could ultimately lead to catastrophe.
Absalom Odhiambo Onyango, a member of the Korogocho County Assembly, made certain remarks during the Azimio la Umoja Alliance rally on January 23, 2023, at the Kamukunji grounds. Among other things, he incited ethnic hatred and violence among Kenyans.
The presidency is a representation of national unity, according to the commission’s chairman, thus nobody would be permitted to undercut it.
According to NCIC, the president should always be treated with respect and deference.
In addition to harming national cohesion, he claimed that actions that undermine the presidency will also harm Kenyans’ ability to live in peace and harmony. During his speech during the gathering, Odhiambo referred to President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, using unprintable language.
“…Kwa siasa ya taifa twende ikulu tutoe huyo mwizi… Tufunge biashara is a town in Nataka. Itaendelea hii town ya Nairobi, hakuna biashara. Raila Odinga aheshimu Ndio William Ruto lazima tufunge biashara hii town, “He stated.
This roughly translates as, “Let us go to State House and remove that thief for national politics… I’d like for us to go to town and shut down businesses. Nairobi will be devoid of commerce. We must close businesses in this town in order for William Ruto to respect Raila Odinga.”
