Mutahi Kagwe Thanks William Ruto After Being Sworn In

Mutahi Kagwe has released a statement after being sworn in as the agriculture cabinet secretary.

Kagwe was nominated as the agricultural cabinet secretary just weeks after an urgent meeting between President William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta in Gatundu. Kagwe served in the previous administration as the health cabinet secretary under Uhuru Kenyatta. He was passed by Parliament after his vetting and was sworn in on Friday.

He took to his social media account on X to thank the president for giving him the opportunity to serve Kenyans. “I sincerely thank H. E. President William Ruto for appointing me as the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development. Agriculture is the backbone of our livelihoods and economy. As I humbly take up office, I am aware of the challenges ahead. This is an opportunity to also turn those challenges into opportunities.” He said.

On Friday his close ally Uhuru Kenyatta urged the Gen Z to continue fighting for their rights.
