Mudavadi Urges Kenyans to Embrace New Healthcare Scheme, SHA

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has urged Kenyans to give government ample time to rollout and implement the new healthcare scheme, the Social Health Authority (SHA).

Speaking during a thanksgiving Sunday service held in African Divine Church (ADC) in Nairobi, on November 4, Mudavadi added that the government is taking a step forward to enhance health services for every Kenyan.

He made it clear that the government has interest of every Kenyan at heart, doing its best to wipe out the idea that better health services can only be afforded by the few minority.

The government is not introducing a scheme that will hurt its people, especially when it comes to matters healthcare a critical component of the societal well-being. We want to get it right this time round,” he said.

He went ahead to lure Kenyans to fully support the transformations the government is employing in the health sector, cautioning them not to fall into the trap of those opposing the rollout and implementation of the new healthcare scheme.

According to Mudavadi, the minority group that are opposing the new scheme are perpetrators of corruption hence giving them ears would paralyze the health sector in the country.

Kenyans should know that corruption fights back. When those who have been gaining through the loopholes and mismanagement of the previous scheme see changes coming, they have to use all means to fight back the new scheme,” warned Mudavadi.

He revealed that the mission of the government is to transform Kenya’s healthcare landscape in totality while implementing progressive policies aimed at improving the nation’s health system.

The government is committed to decentralizing healthcare services extending the network from basic community facilities to advanced medical centres,” he stated.

Mudavadi made these sentiments during a Sunday thanksgiving service by African Divine Church, who were celebrating their 73rd anniversary. The event, also attended by H.E President William Ruto alongside other Kenya Kwanza leaders, was held at the Nairobi Primary School grounds in Nairobi County
