MPs To Provide A Report On CS Screening To Parliament.

The report on the vetting of cabinet secretaries will be presented to parliament on Tuesday in the afternoon by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments.

After that, on Wednesday, the report will be discussed in the parliament.

The President will then receive the candidates from the committee for consideration.

The screening process began on October 17 and was completed on October 22.

The committee led by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, however, unanimously approved 21 of the CS applicants, according to reliable sources, although there was strong disagreement over the three remaining candidates.

The fate of the nominees, whose eligibility was disputed by the Minority side, was in limbo for the most of Monday, according to sources at the influential committee who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The 21-team member who has been reviewing the nominees told the Star: “Just know there is no consensus, perhaps we will come to an agreement before tabling but just understand we are not agreeing on three nominees.”

Aisha Jumwa, a former Malindi MP, Mithika Linturi, a former senator from Meru, and Moses Kuria, a former lawmaker from Gatundu South, have not yet been nominated, according to our sources.

The three were among the nominees whose behavior sparked a contentious discussion during the screening, with several panelists opining that they don’t meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
