Miguna Miguna Criticizes Activities at Raila Odinga’s Opoda Home

Lawyer Dr. Miguna Miguna has lashed out at the ongoing activities at the Opoda home of Raila Odinga, arguing that what is happening there “is not mourning.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Miguna claimed that the events amount to “naked obscene materialism, money laundering, and desecration of Luo culture.

He stated, “Genuine cultures and societies are built on values of integrity, honesty, decency, and humanity, little of which is exhibited by those pretending to prostrate themselves and present gowlish ‘presents’ of dubious origins.

Miguna also lamented the absence of traditional mourning customs, saying, “We have not seen a single mourner drinking porridge or eating omena, as is customary, despite the 100,000 heads of cattle presented during the ongoing unprecedented vulgarity and ethnocide.

Defending his criticism, he added, “Abuse me if that’s what makes your adrenaline pump, but I am here to speak truth to power, expose cultural saboteurs and organized bandits.

Miguna concluded by warning that “Chira is a real thing in Luo culture,” emphasizing the cultural consequences of violating traditional mourning practices.
