Maurice Ogeta Leads Family to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Heartfelt Visit to Raila Odinga

Maurice Ogeta, the long-serving and trusted aide to Raila Odinga, on Saturday made a significant return to Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, this time accompanied by his family. The visit, described as emotional and deeply symbolic, marked a reunion with the man he worked closely with for the longest period of his professional life.

Ogeta, who has been part of Odinga’s inner circle for years, said it was important for his family to meet and pay respect to the person who shaped much of his career, provided guidance, and stood with him through some of the toughest political seasons.

He noted that his children had grown up hearing Raila’s name as part of their everyday conversations, but had never experienced the historical significance of Kang’o Ka Jaramogi firsthand.Upon arrival, the family was warmly welcomed into the homestead, which stands as a historical and cultural symbol of the Odinga lineage.

The environment remained peaceful and homely, with Odinga receiving the visitors in a relaxed, informal setting.Sources close to the meeting say the discussions were reflective, touching on years of political experiences, family milestones, and Ogeta’s journey in public service.

The atmosphere was marked by laughter, recollection of past events, and appreciation of the long-standing working relationship that linked the two families.Ogeta highlighted that the purpose of the visit was not political, but personal — a gesture of gratitude to a leader who had become more than an employer.

He expressed his admiration for Odinga’s mentorship and said he felt compelled to bring his family to the place where many of his professional decisions were shaped. The Odinga household expressed appreciation for the visit, acknowledging the loyalty, dedication, and composure Ogeta maintained throughout his years of service.

Members of the family were said to be pleased to meet those closest to him and appreciated the gesture of reconnecting beyond the demands of political life. The visit ended on a warm note, with both families reaffirming their long-standing bond, one built over years of shared experiences, mutual trust, and unwavering respect.
