Mass Casualty Accident Reported Along Enterprise Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area

A serious road accident involving a public service vehicle has been reported along Enterprise Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area, opposite KCB Bank, triggering an emergency response and causing major traffic disruption in the area.

According to preliminary reports, a matatu overturned under circumstances that are still being investigated. Witnesses at the scene alleged that the driver had been engaging in reckless driving and dangerous maneuvers commonly associated with some public transport vehicles.

However, authorities had not officially confirmed the cause of the accident at the time of reporting.The overturned vehicle is reported to have landed on several passengers who were allegedly hanging onto the doorway during the journey.

The exact number of those affected remains unconfirmed as rescue operations and assessments continue.Emergency responders, including police officers, medical personnel, and members of the public, rushed to the scene to assist the injured and secure the area.Victims were attended to on-site before being transferred to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The accident attracted large crowds as concerned residents and motorists gathered to witness rescue efforts. Traffic flow along Enterprise Road was significantly affected, with authorities advising motorists to seek alternative routes while the scene was being cleared.Road safety advocates have repeatedly raised concerns about reckless driving, overloading, and unsafe passenger practices in some sections of the public transport sector.
