Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been confirmed dead on Wednesday morning, leaving a profound impact on the nation. Raila died while receiving treatment in Kochi, India. According to reports, Odinga collapsed during a morning walk at the Ayurvedic hospital where he was receiving care.
While prouncing him dead at 9:52a.m local time, the doctors at Devamatha Hospital in Koothattukulam confirmed the cause of Odinga’s death to be a cardiac arrest. His body is currently being preserved at the facility as the necessary formalities are being handled.
It’s worth noting that Odinga had traveled to India accompanied by his daughter, Rosemary Odinga, who was receiving Ayurvedic treatment at Sreedhareeyam Hospital. The same facility had previously helped her regain partial eyesight. As the news of his passing spreads, the Indian authorities have alerted the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to initiate repatriation procedures, following standard protocol. The nation will likely come together to pay tribute to the former Prime Minister’s legacy and contributions.
