DCI Officer Killed In Hit And Run Accident Along Northern Bypass, Nairobi

A DCI officer has been killed in a hit and run accident along Northern Bypass at Maruirui near Ashaki club.

The man identified as Boniface Muganda attached to the communications & Public Affairs Unit was headed home on his motorbike when a speeding motorist hit his bike and took off, leaving the officer sprawled on the tarmac metres away from his bike.

In a statement issued by the Criminal Investigations Unit, attempts by the responders to seek medical attention for the victim bore no fruit as the officer breathed his last at the Kenyatta University hospital gate where he had been taken to.

Boniface Muganda

According to the DCI, the deceased previously served at the forensic photographic and acoustics unit and was the creative artist behind the latest edition of the DCI Magazine among other.

“Muganda was a hardworking, self driven and dedicated officer who performed his duties outstandingly and got along well with colleagues from across all cadres. He was a gifted Communications Officer whose skills in photography were unmatched’’ read part of the statement. Investigations into the incident have already began.

The death comes barely a week after President William Ruto disbanded the Special Service Unit attached to the DCI and 4 officers arrested in relation to disappearances of two Indians and taxi driver.
