Davis Chirchir Details Events Before Chopper Crash Involving Johana Ng’eno

The helicopter 5Y-DSB left Wilson Airport on Saturday 28th February 2026 at 11.04 am, with only Captain George Were, the pilot, on board.

The chopper arrived at Hon. Ngong Ng’eno’s home in Emurua Dikirr at 11.55 am Departed Emurua Dikirr at 12.20pm, with Hon Ngong Ngeno, Nick Kosgei, Sportpesa Ronoh, Carlos Keter and Amos Kiongetich on board Landed at Mararianda River at 12: 29 pm Departed Mararianda at 12: 54 pm, still with Hon. Ngong Ngeno and his team.

Landed in Endebes at 2: 07 pm, where Hon. Ngong Ngeno and his crew alighted to attend a function.The chopper left immediately for Eldoret Airstrip with only the pilot on board for refueling and picking two passengers, including cameraman Kipchirchir Mosonok The chopper landed at Eldoret Airstrip at 2: 29 pmDeparted Eldoret Airstrip at 3: 07 pm and landed again at Endebes at 3: 41 pm.

Departed Endebes at 3: 43 pm, with Hon Ngong Ngeno, Nick Kosgei, Carlos Keter, Sportpesa Rono and Amos Kipngetich on board. Made an emergency landing in Tabolwa at 4: 20 pm Took off again at 4: 25 pm then disappeared from radar at 4: 26 pm.

CS Chirchir states that investigations into the cause of the crash that killed Hon. Ngong Ngeno, his five aids and the pilot are ongoing, with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) report expected in 30 days.
