President Ruto Dares Raila To Put His Call For Mass Protest Into Action

Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya, has been challenged by President William Ruto to carry out his warning of widespread protest.

Odinga announced a nationwide strike for the following 14 days in protest of the high cost of living and the presidency of William Ruto. On February 22, Odinga made the announcement at the Jeevanjee Gardens in Nairobi.

Kenyans have “become weary of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s hide-and-seek games on the cost of life,” according to the former prime minister.

“The current reorganization of IEBC must end right away. In order to reform the IEBC in a way that stops its monolithic operations, a nonpartisan task force must be established. We will mobilize Kenyans to conduct huge mass action to reclaim their authority and bring about sanity if these demands are not met within 14 days, warned Odinga.

On Wednesday afternoon, during the Nairobi Rivers Commission’s launch in Korogocho, President William Ruto challenged the former prime minister to follow through on his warning.

The chief of state berated the call for widespread protest.

“As president, I’m going to see to it that impunity is avoided and eradicated. Nobody will be able to threaten Kenya without consequence. Everyone is required to uphold the law, and the rule of law will govern our nation. We’ll see to it that everyone upholds the law, works hard, and respects the constitution.

I want to say to our buddies who are accustomed to getting away with it that they will have no chance in this country because it will be based on the rule of law. added Ruto.
