Some in the British and American media have interpreted Nigeria’s ban on using foreign models as a ban on white people and foreign accents, as well as an attempt to break free from a colonial mentality.
However, this ignores the fact that many Nigerians, both at home and abroad, have authentic or fake British and American accents, as well as some Nigerians who are blonde-haired and blue-eyed.
