William Ruto Announces Plans To Build Dual Cariage Road To Nakuru

President William Ruto has announced a new dual carriage road will be built between Nairobi and Nakuru.

The president was speaking while in Uasin Gishu, where he was addressing the ongoing traffic jam that has entered its fourth day now. He insisted he was aware of the challenges the motorists face when they board to Nakuru and also to western Kenya. He revealed they had earlier entered into a private partnership with French giants, but the partnership did not materialize. He revealed they had found a new company to build the road, and the work will begin in 2025.

He said that the expansion will run up to the Malaba border.”There is a challenge in Nairobi. We had a PPP between us and a French company, but it did not work out, but we have other alternatives that we are working on as a government. The commitment I want to give is that next year, we will begin the construction of a dual carriageway from Nairobi to Nakuru and then later to Malaba. We are already in discussion with different companies on how that road will be done,” he said.

KENHA has advised motorists who plan on travelling to Nakuru to use alternative routes, especially during this festive season.
