President Ruto Commends Court Over Its Jurisprudential Mandate

President William Ruto has commended the court for the manner in which it has always exercised its mandate to handle the cases tabled before it, saying the court has portrayed faithfulness to the Constitution of Kenya.

Via a social made post on his official timeline, Ruto specifically applauded the Supreme Court describing it as a Champion of Justice to all.

We commend the Supreme Court for being a firm and faithful custodian of our Constitution, a defender of human rights, a pillar of democracy and a champion of justice for all” read in part of the post.

He stated this, as Supreme Court, on Monday November 4, commemorated 12-years since its establishment in the country. He further called on Supreme Court, to renew its vigour in shaping Kenya’s constitutional landscape, irrespective of the promising challenges envisioned.

As the Court journeys through its jurisprudential mandate, we invite it to renew its vigour in shaping our constitutional landscape. It must stay agile, forward-thinking, innovative and accountable to meeting the ever-evolving and complex challenges of our time,” he added.

Ruto, alongside other leaders including his deputy Prof Kithure Kindiki, Chief Justice and the President of the Supreme Court of Kenya Martha Koome, her deputy Lady Justice Philomena Mwilu, Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia W Mudavadi, Governor Sakaja Johnson, judges of the court, among others, were present at the Supreme Court Building in Nairobi to commemorate the day.
