5 Killed In Grisly Road Accident Along Kisii-Keroka Road

At least five people have died in a road accident on Saturday 1 April, that involved a 14-seater matatu and a trailer along Kissi-Keroka road.

The matatu was travelling from Kisii town when it hit the trailer head-on. Eyewitnesses said that the matatu was escaping a possible head on collision with a motorbike when it rammed into the trailer which was coming from Sotik.

It was reported that among the casualties was a Maranda high school student who was travelling home from school.

Those injured are nursing injuries at different hospitals in the region including Keroka district hospital, St. Catherine Ichuni mission hospital and the Kisii teaching and referral hospital.

Masaba North Police Boss Robert Ndambiri has however urged drivers to be Keen while using the Kisii -Keroka-Sotik road that is prone to accidents due to its narrow nature.
