ODM Issues Fresh Health Update on Leader Oburu Odinga

ODM leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga is expected to leave hospital on Wednesday, October 14, following an improvement in his health. The update, issued by ODM Secretary General Catherine Omanyo, comes amid speculation on social media about the veteran politician’s condition.

Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, Omanyo dismissed reports claiming that Oburu had died, assuring the public that he was alive and recovering.

She also commended Kenyan medical professionals for their role in his recovery, while urging the public to exercise caution and refrain from circulating unverified information about his health.

Oburu was reportedly admitted to The Nairobi Hospital on October 4, shortly after returning from the United Kingdom, where he had traveled for medical treatment.

His hospitalization also prevented him from attending the October 7 commissioning of the mausoleum of his late brother, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, in Bondo, Siaya County.

The latest announcement is expected to reassure ODM supporters and other Kenyans who have been concerned about the health of the 82-year-old senator.

However, the anticipated discharge remains the key development in the latest update, as attention shifts from online speculation to his recovery and return from hospital.
