Battle Between Bahati And Ziiki Media Escalates

Musician Kevin Bahati has vowed to take legal actions against Ziiki Media after allegedly hacking his YouTube channel and deleting his new song dubbed as “Diana” featuring Rwandan singer, Bruce Melodie.


On Thursday, the singer took it to his Instagram to announce his progress on dealing with the music distribution company after the malicious act. He urged his fans to stream the song on boom play platform as he prepared for the legal actions against the company.

Two days ago, Bahati accused Ziiki Media of hacking his YouTube channel and deleting his collabo track. The “Barua” hitmaker called out the company as he termed them as “fraudsters” adding that other artists should avoid being associated with Ziiki Media.

The accusations made the music distribution company to hastily make a comeback by sharing a press release on their official Instagram page. The company refuted the allegations as they indicated that the artist didn’t have any solid evidence to support the claims. Terming it as “defamatory”, they demanded an unconditional apology from the musician as well as deletion of the offensive post in which failure to that the company would seek redressal at the appropriate forum.


The music distribution company clarified their role in African music industry in the past ten years where they have being in the forefront in distributing music for various renown and upcoming artists. They revealed that the company have been distributing Bahati’s music since October 2020 in accordance with the contract signed by both parties. However, failure to honour the contract could cause severe consequences which may be unbearable to either of the parties.

As they acknowledged the musician’s huge following on social media platforms, Ziiki Media advised the artist to seek for appropriate legal way of approaching the matter instead of outlining it in the social media.
