‘Faithless’ revolves around the lives of four church members who find themselves entangled in a world of crime and violence. The story takes an unexpected turn when their chama, a women’s guild, is transformed into a money laundering operation by a ruthless crime lord. Caught in the crosshairs of this dangerous game is Esther, a struggling waitress who stumbles upon the stolen loot and uncovers a shocking secret: her own brother played a key role in orchestrating the heist.

Portraying the resilient Esther is Rosemary Waweru, known for her role in ‘Tabasamu.’ Joining her are Avril Nyambura, Beatrice Mwai, and Fatma Mohammed, who bring to life Esther’s three church friends, adding depth and complexity to the story. Notably, the series features the versatile filmmaker and actor Aleks Kamau, as well as the popular news anchor Mark Masai.

Faithless explores our inner turmoil as humans and the conflicts of faith versus money, and how we try to justify our actions and sins as being for the ‘greater good’,” said Showmax Content Specialist in East Africa, Denise Mwende

With a talented ensemble cast, led by the talented Rosemary Waweru, the series promises to deliver compelling performances and keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

“It’s also a relatable show with women at the center of the story. It speaks to our everyday lives, and most importantly, the lives of our mothers, sisters, and wives, and the challenges they face,” says Auka Gecheo, the executive producer.

Produced by Live Eye TV and helmed by the creative trio of Abdi Shuria, King Muriuki, and Janet Chumbe, who also directed the acclaimed Showmax thriller ‘Igiza,’ ‘Faithless’ brings a unique twist by exploring the involvement of devout churchgoers in criminal activities.
