Few weeks after Kamene Goro’s exit from the radio station,Oga Obinna has also announced his departure after one year of service to the station.
In an exclusive interview with Mpasho, Obinna while expressing gratitude to Radio Africa for the opportunity, said that his contract with Radio Africa Group has ended and that both parties have opted to end their relationship amicably.
He also revealed that his last day at the station was Monday, last week, 17 April 2023.
“I’m no longer at Kiss. I have finished my contract.The experience has been beautiful and I have achieved my dream and did everything I wanted to do. And everything I do from now henceforth will be extra. I have achieved what I wanted to do and now we move,” he said.
The presenter and singer added that any other speculations about the reasons behind him exiting the station is null and that it’s him only who knows better.
“I know the reason as to why I have left so let those who want to speculate do it, it’s their job…”
Obinna was hosting the morning kiss alongside Kamene Goro who was replaced by Kwambox who has been cohosting the programme with Obinna untill his departure.He joined the station in March 2022 ,taking the place of Jalang’o,Lang’ata Member of Parliament.
Other sources have gone ahead to reveal that media personality had asked for a raise, a plea that did not yield any fruits.A source a complice of Tuko News disclosed that Kwambox is earning more than Obinna who was reportedly on probation.
Oga Obinna had recently clashed with Kwambox on air and threatened to quit if Eric Omondi joined them on the breakfast show.
During their conversation on a Thursday morning, the comedian noted with anger that he would sooner exit the premises than share the studio with Eric Omomdi.
“Eric is not doing an interview here as long as I live. And if he happens to come, I will leave,” Obinna said.
His utterances stirred a conversation online that led the presenter to the receiving end of harsh criticism and mockery.
