Top Kenya Kwanza And Azimio Leaders To Meet On Thursday Amid Push And Pull

The leadership of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance will meet on Thursday to discuss the schedule for the bipartisan negotiations.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 am.

National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah has asked for the location of the talks in a letter seen by the Star and delivered to National Assembly Clerk Samuel Njoroge on Tuesday, April 18.

The letter asks, in part, that “this is to request you to facilitate a meeting venue for talks on the Bi-Partisan process for a team of 6-8 members on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 11:00 am.”

Ichung’wah stated that three people from Azimio and three from Kenya Kwanza will be present at the meeting. Opiyo Wandayi, the minority leader of the National Assembly, Aaron Cheruiyot, Stewart Madzayo, Otiende Amollo, the member of parliament for Rarieda, and he will all be there.

George Murugara, the MP for Wandayi, Cheruiyot, Madzayo, Amollo, and Tharaka, received a copy of the letter.

Ichung’wah declared, “I hereby invite the Members to the same meeting at the venue your office shall communicate, by a copy of this letter to the Members.”
