Azimio Protestors Take To The Streets Despite State Warning

Azimio la Umoja supporters took to the streets on Thursday for the third round after Raila declared Monday and Thursday Maandamano days.

Despite the protests being banned by state and a warning from police that they would do anything to prevent it at all costs, Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has vowed that the protests will continue as he had announced.

Police had been dispatched in full riot gear to areas labelled as more prone to riot chaos. These include Mathare and Kibra and also named areas in Kisumu.

In as much as the day started with no sign of any protests as people went on with thier day to day activities, the anti Government demonstrators have gradually stepped out to what is now more of a tug of war between police and the protestors.

Keen watch by police was enforced by police in Uhuru Kenyatta’s Ichaweri home and that of Martha Karua to ensure no questionable activities take place in the two homes.

Protestors now are joining Raila Odinga’s convoy in Imara Daima Embakasi Sputh Constituency where he is to make his public address.
