The IEBC Deputy CEO’s Detention Suspended By The Labour Court

Ruth Kulundu’s detention has been suspended by a Nairobi labor court.

Kulundu’s dismissal was ruled to be illegal by Employment and Labour Relations Judge Linet Ndolo. The court found that when the interdiction letter was sent to Kulundu last year, IEBC CEO Marjan Marjan broke IEBC HR policy.

In the letter, Kulundu was charged with impersonating and organizing an unauthorized commission plenary meeting.

Four commissioners who contested the 2022 presidential election results chose at the meeting which legal firms would represent the commission in the presidential election petition filed by Raila Odinga, a candidate for the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya State House.
