Twitter, a social media network, has declared that it would begin retiring its vintage blue badges on April 1st, 2023.
Users will now pay a monthly charge under Twitter Blue to have the badge, the website announced last year (blue checkmark).
Twitter verified said on Friday that it would start winding down its legacy verified program and remove legacy verified checkmarks as of April 1. Those who want the verification mark on Twitter will now need to reapply under Twitter Blue.
Elon Musk’s acquisition of the business brought about the adjustments. According to Musk, Twitter Blue will give users priority in responses, mentions, and searches, which is crucial to thwarting spam and scams.
In addition, they will be allowed to publish lengthy audio and video files and receive half as many advertisements. Those who are public figures will also have a secondary tag underneath their name, as is presently the case for politicians, according to Musk.
