Three People Killed In A Car Accident In Ruiru, Including 11-year-old child

A private car crashed into a tuktuk, smashing it into a matatu in the Kamakis section of the Eastern Bypass on Sunday, killing at least three persons.

Three additional passengers were hurt and sent to the hospital in the 7 a.m. incident, according to police.

After the accident, the driver of the impacted automobile appeared bewildered before police arrived and brought him into custody, then to the hospital for further examination.

According to witnesses, he was speeding at the time of the collision before losing control of the vehicle and ramming into a tuk-tuk ahead of him, driving it onto another public service vehicle that was also ahead of them.

The tuk-tuk collided into the back of the matatu, hurting the occupants.

The tuk-tuk driver was also stuck inside.

The third car rolled ahead and overturned before the driver walked away with minor injuries.

Photos obtained at the scene showed the horrific tragedy with witnesses unable to retrieve one of the dead that remained trapped inside.

An 11-year-old child was among those slain, according to police.

The car was allegedly speeding at the time of the incident, according to police.

Officers on the scene expressed concern that the number of deceased could rise.

Multiple injuries were sustained by the injured, who were sent to the hospital.
