Simba Arati Parades Kisii County Drivers For An Head Count In An Attempt To Identify Ghost Workers

Kisii Governor elect, Simba Arati conducted a general parade on Thursday at Gusii Stadium where all county government drivers were ordered to stand beside the vehicle assigned to them after verification of their driving license for physical head count.

Arati conducted the exercise himself with the help of police officers in an attempt to find ghost workers as a way of eradicating corruption and injustices in the county office. This process was as result of a report submitted to him on Wednesday that listed 256 drivers on the payroll yet only 82 were accounted for.

“I expected to see 256 drivers who I called here. This is sickening. How else can we explain? Are some drivers passengers in those vehicles? the governor asked.

Speaking on the same, the governor promised to arrest county staffs and whoever engages in looting public resources. He added that his administration will work on all challenges that the county drivers face and pledged to review concerns of promotions, risk allowances, car procuring of plant operation machines and protective gears.
