Ruto’s Correctional Services PS Esther Ngero Quits

Esther Ngero, the principal secretary for correctional services, has left her position.

Her move from the state department for Performance and Delivery Management in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the state department for Correctional Services under the Ministry of Interior and National Administration occurred a week prior to this. Ngero resigned for personal reasons, according to a statement released by Felix Koskei, head of the public service, on Tuesday.

The announcement adds, “Esther Ngero, Principal Secretary for Correctional Services, has received and accepted with regret her resignation from her position due to personal reasons.”

The establishment of the institutional structure to facilitate the implementation of Public Service Performance Management and Monitoring for Ministries, State Departments, and State Agencies (MDAs), according to Koskei, was made possible in large part by Ngero.

The statement further revealed that Ngero joined the ranks of Principal Secretaries in December 2022 after an almost two-decades career in the petroleum sector. She has held the position for just five months.
