13 women have been put forward by President William Ruto for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary.
The 13 are among the 50 CASs proposed, according to a statement issued on Thursday by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei. Former senator Millicent Omanga, who was nominated for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, is one of those who has been nominated.
She is one of the poll rejects who received a spot on the list. Bishop Margaret Wanjiru has been proposed for the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSEs after running unsuccessfully for the Nairobi senatorial seat. Ann Wanjiku Mwangi for the position of Deputy President and Rehema Hassan for the position of Prime Cabinet Secretary are two more women who have been nominated.
Beatrice Nkatha Nyaga has been proposed for the position of National Treasury. Catherine Waruguru, a former Laikipia Women Representative, will undergo screening for the CAS position at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
Lilian Cheptoo, a former West Pokot Women Representative, is one of the candidates for the Minister of Commerce and Investments. The Ministry of Gender has nominated Charity Kibaba for the role.
Jackline Lukalo (forestry), Rehema Jaldesa (tourism), Mary Seneta (energy), and Rael Chebichii are also on the list (EAC and ASALs).
