Ruto Extends David Maraga’s Taskforce Term By 60 Days

The taskforce designated to evaluate the terms and conditions of employment for law enforcement and prison service personnel has been given an additional 60 days.

Ruto made the announcement on Friday, stating that it will be extended to accommodate National Youth Service-related issues (NYS). An additional 60 days have been granted to the taskforce established to review the terms and conditions of employment for law enforcement and prison service personnel. On Friday, Ruto announced the extension, saying it was necessary to address concerns with the National Youth Service (NYS).

While presiding over the NYS parade pass out in Gilgil, Ruto was addressing. The task force’s report should arrive in the next two weeks, the President said. The task group, which received its official notice in December 2022, has 90 days to close any operational deficiencies in the police department and enhance the working conditions for security personnel.

Yet according to the President’s order, the task force is anticipated to finish its work in May. The task force’s chairman is retired Chief Justice David Maraga. Carole Kariuki is his deputy on the task force, which has 20 members altogether.

The task committee will include Moffat Kangi, a former principal administrative secretary, John Ole Moyaki, Ibrahim Jillo Guyo, Richard Kirundi, Elizabeth Mueni, and Roseline Odede.
