Ruto Announces Major Support Measures During Burial of Ng’eno

President William Ruto issued a series of directives and pledges while attending the burial service of the late Johana Ng’eno and four others at Emurua Dikirr Primary School in Narok County.During the ceremony, the President announced several initiatives aimed at honoring the late legislator and supporting the families affected by the tragic incident.

Among the key directives, the President promised KSh750 million to establish a branch of Maasai Mara University in Emurua Dikirr, which will be named in honour of the late MP. He also directed the Teachers Service Commission to redirect an employment letter that had been issued to Carlos Keter to his sister.Ruto further pledged to address all concerns raised by the family of Nick Kosgey. For the family of Amos, the government will support students studying at Kisii University by paying their school fees.

Belgut MP Nelson Koech will sponsor one student, while another sponsor identified as Brighton will support another learner.The President also directed that the widow of Wycliff Rono, an employee of SportPesa, be offered employment at the Ministry of Agriculture.In addition, the government will set aside KSh20 million annually to support artists in honour of Johana Ng’eno.

The Ministry of Housing was also instructed to rename Shauri Moyo Estate in memory of the late MP.Each affected family will receive KSh2 million as financial support, while KSh5 million has been allocated for the completion of a local church project.The President also directed the completion of 12 markets across Narok County and announced plans to purchase 1,500 acres of land in Angata Barikoi for the resettlement of squatters.Additionally, a new Class B road will be constructed from Chebole to Dikir without recarpeting.

Ruto further stated that 12,000 families displaced from the Mau Forest will be resettled between July and August after funds are allocated in the current national budget.The directives were part of the government’s broader effort to support the bereaved families and to commemorate the leadership and legacy of the late Johana Ng’eno.
