Raila Odinga Issues Demands Before Making A Deal With Ruto

ODM leader Raila Odinga has reportedly set up conditions before making any deal with Ruto.

Since losing the African Union chairperson seat in Addis Ababa, Odinga has held different consultations before making any decision. Last week, he met with President William Ruto in Mombasa, with the details still not revealed. Ruto said that they had agreed to move the country forward now that the election period was over. Back last year, Raila was awarded cabinet slots in the government shortly after the Gen Z demonstrations.

Speaking while in Mombasa, Raila Odinga issued fresh demands before making any deal to work with William Ruto.”The youth who sustained injuries and parents of those who died in 2023 during the Azimio protests and the Gen Z protests of last year have to be compensated. Those are the conditions we are setting. But the most important thing is that such incidents should not be happening in our country,” the ODM leader stated.

Kenyans on social media have accused Raila Odinga of putting his demands in front when trying to negotiate for a deal like he did during the Uhuru Kenyatta handshake.
