Public Service Internship Programme Opens 8,000 Positions for Graduates

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has unveiled 8,000 intern opportunities for the 2023/2024 period via the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP). The main beneficiaries will be graduates, as the programme seeks to augment their skills for future employment. This initiative by the government aims to bolster youth empowerment by providing practical experience to university graduates, thus enhancing their employability, networking skills, and fostering entrepreneurship.

To be considered for the program, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in any field, have graduated no earlier than 2017, and should be competent in computer use. The scope of intern responsibilities will include undertaking tasks assigned by supervisors, documenting acquired skills, and participating in relevant mentorship activities.

Interns must be open to handling extra responsibilities throughout their one-year, non-renewable contract. They will receive a stipend, the rate of which is to be established by the government. A certificate will be awarded to those who successfully complete the internship.

The PSC is welcoming applications from interested and eligible graduates via its job portal, with the submission deadline set for August 14, 2023.
