PS Omollo Gives Nod To Kericho Green Stadium For This Year’s Mashujaa Day Celebrations

The National Celebrations Steering Committee today toured Kericho Green Stadium, the venue of this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations, to inspect the facility and assess the level of preparedness ahead of the October 20th event.

The delegation led by the steering committee chairperson, Raymond Omollo, who is also the Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary, and his Sports counterpart, Eng. Peter Tum, toured various sections of the stadium in the company of Kericho County Secretary, Dr. Wesly Bor and Chief Officers, Gilbert Kipkirui(Finance and Economic Planning), Geoffrey Bett(ICT, Sports, Gender and Youth Affairs), Alphonce Rotich(Executive Office of the Governor) and heads of County security team.

While addressing the press, PS Omollo said from the preliminary assessment, the stadium was ideal to host the upcoming national event, and that his team, together with the County Government of Kericho, was on top of everything to ensure the venue was worked on to meet the set national standards.

Others present included, Sports Kenya Director General, Pius Metto and representative from the Office of Kericho Senator.
